Course Overview

With a broad understanding of key income tax issues in cross-border trade and investment, participants can play a more significant role in the advisory and structuring process. In an increasingly competitive supply chain, the mitigation of onerous tax exposures and compliance risks arising from multi-jurisdictional presence is becoming more critical in shareholder value optimization. The uncertainty of endorsing new business models that are largely untested under existing tax rules is exacerbated by more frequent tax reforms in major economies as well as unprecedented tax proposals initiated by the OECD/G20.

  • Basic Taxation Concepts
  • SG50 – Tax policy, Sustainability and Competition
  • Tax Jurisdiction – Domestic and International Double Taxation
  • Taxation issues in Corporate Finance – Debt, Equity, Hybrid Financial Instruments and ICOs.
  • Anti-avoidance – the limits to Tax Planning
  • Convergence of Global Tax Compliance – enhanced information disclosures, tax reform, OECD/G20 Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS)
