Event Overview

In the run up to the signing of the Singapore Convention on Mediation, Ministry of Law (MinLaw) is organising briefing sessions for the legal fraternity to provide interested lawyers and in-house counsel with information on what the Singapore Convention on Mediation is about, and its implications for their clients’/companies’ choice of dispute resolution options, particularly with regard to mediated settlements.  MinLaw also hopes to give attendees an overview on international commercial mediation and Singapore as a dispute resolution hub.

Programme 

  • Introduction by Mr Han Kok Juan, Deputy Secretary (Law)
  • Sharing on the Singapore Convention on Mediation by Ms Sharon Ong, Head of Singapore Delegation, UNCITRAL Working Group II (Dispute Settlement)
  • Briefing by DS Han Kok Juan on the Singapore Convention signing ceremony and conference
  • Sharing by SIMC on international commercial mediation and Singapore as a dispute resolution hub

Post-session lunch will be provided.
