Greg Tanner is the Group General Counsel of International SOS, the world’s leading medical & security services company, which operates in over 100 countries with 11,000 employees, led by over 5,000 medical practitioners and security specialists. International SOS’s global service offerings include medical and travel risk and security planning, health assurance and preventative care programs, in-country medical expertise, and emergency response services for mobile workers, travelers, expatriates, and their dependents. International SOS also undertakes the staffing and operation of over 800 sites remote and industrial medical sites. And International SOS is the largest global concierge service, provider.
Greg is a lawyer admitted to the Bar of the State of New York, to the Supreme Court of Judicature of England and Wales and to the Ordre des Avocats de Paris. Greg has practiced at Clifford Chance and White & Case, two of the world’s leading law firms, in, variously, London, New York, Singapore, Luxembourg, Jakarta, and Paris.
Greg headed the Legal Department in the Asia Pacific for Informix Software and was the Director of Legal & Regulatory Affairs for DHL and a Member of the DHL Asia Pacific Management Board. Greg also worked with DHL in Brussels as Senior Vice President in charge of Global Organizational Effectiveness, which position he held prior to joining International SOS. His responsibilities at International SOS include handling all legal matters, including an active M&A agenda, data protection, internal audit, internal security, group insurance, regulatory affairs, and corporate secretarial services.
Antony Lee is the General Counsel for HSBC Singapore and has held that appointment since Feb 2006. He also has a regional role as Deputy General Counsel, Asia Pacific for HSBC with a focus on supporting HSBC’s ASEAN agenda and the legal teams from the other ASEAN countries. He manages a department of 30 lawyers and paralegals that is responsible for the management of legal matters for all HSBC entities in Singapore.
Prior to joining HSBC, Antony has worked in various capacities in the banking sector and in private legal practice where he has acquired broad experience in financial services and corporate law and commercial litigation.
Antony has been active in various professional and community bodies. He is currently one of the co-chairs for the Singapore Corporate Counsel Association Banking and Finance Chapter. Antony is also an accredited mediator of the Singapore Mediation Centre and as such acts as a mediator from time to time.
Tony Lai has been a Member/Director on the Board of Advisors for Child at Street 11, a secular and independent Charity that delivers subsidized early education for children aged 2 months to 12 years, since 2019. Professionally Tony is in the field of design strategy. He is currently the Principal for Design Capability and Culture at the Great Eastern Life Assurance Company where he is involved in the application of design methods for concept creation, product development, and consumer experience.
Tony’s design career began when he was the Managing Director of design strategy firm The Idea Factory Singapore from 2001 to 2009. As a pioneer in design strategy and thinking approaches, The Idea Factory created a proprietary set of processes to assist client organizations in their innovation efforts.
After 8 years with The Idea Factory, Tony joined the Singapore Tourism Board as its Assistant Chief Executive from 2009 to 2012. Tony led the strategy and planning group, the marketing group, and the industry development group. In 2013, Tony Lai joined Mediacorp as its Managing Director for Vizpro (the entertainment and events arm) and their outdoor advertising business called OOH (out of home) Media.
From 2014 to 2018 Tony brought his design capabilities to the education industry. It started with him being the Chief Strategist with the Office of the Provost at the Singapore Management University (SMU) from 2014-16. In that role, Tony was involved in the co-development of the SMU Academy (lifelong learning) and provided strategic direction to the Institute for Societal Leadership (building social sector leadership capabilities across the region). Tony also taught design strategy as a module in the Doctoral Programme for Innovation (DInn) and the Doctoral Programme in Business Administration (DBA) at SMU’s LKC School of Business. After SMU, Tony joined the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) Pte Ltd, as their Director for Brand, Marketing and Recruitment as well as execute business development opportunities for the organization.
He has been a member of Nanyang Polytechnic’s School of Business’ Advisory Committee since 2017. Tony graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1996 with a Second Class Upper Honors Degree in Social Sciences (Political Science). He also has a Bachelor of Arts with Merit (BA) from NUS in 1995 in Political Science, History, and Philosophy.

The recipients for each award will be invited to an ask-me-anything 1-hour long coffee session (subject to confidentiality considerations) with senior legal leaders comprising of general counsels/legal leaders from Singapore public listed companies and multinational conglomerates including:
Aeron is the Head of Legal at Sembcorp Industries Ltd, an integrated energy player operating in 15 countries. Sembcorp owns and operates power plants (thermal and renewables), waste & wastewater plants and utility centers in Singapore, Vietnam, Myanmar, China, United Kingdom, Bangladesh, and the Middle East.
Aeron handles mainly project and M&A work from greenfield development, brownfield acquisitions, and project financing. In his 19 years with Sembcorp, he has also managed various disputes (court proceedings and arbitrations) in India and Singapore. Aeron has an LLB (Hons) from the UK and he was admitted to the Bar from the Middle Temple (London) in 1995.
Andrew Ong is the Head of Legal for South East Asia, Australia & India in KONE. He is responsible for KONE’s regional legal and compliance matters and is also part of KONE’s Asia Pacific and Middle East Management Team. He also has an additional business role as KONE’s Change Manager in the Asia Pacific and the Middle East.
Prior to joining KONE, Andrew was previously heading the global legal function in a unit of a leading European telecommunication company and used to live in Finland. He obtained his LLB from the National University of Singapore. Andrew is passionate about technology, elevators, and his children. Andrew is also a General Committee Member of the SCCA.
Angeline is Vice President of the Legal Division of Singapore Press Holdings Limited, the leading media platform in Asia. She has been an in-house counsel for more than 20 years and also headed the Risk Management and Compliance function for several years.
Angeline was a founding member of the SCCA and was appointed president from 2006 to 2013. During her tenure, she set up the Asia Pacific Corporate Counsel Alliance linking up corporate counsel associations in Asia to create a corridor for all corporate counsel in the region. She went on to secure the international rights in 2014 to host the very first In-House Counsel World Summit 2014 in Singapore which saw the formalization of the international body that creates affiliation of and promotes cooperation among corporate counsel associations around the globe. She continues to be active in these international bodies by spearheading initiatives to elevate the professional standards of corporate counsel around the world.
Lee Hwa is General Counsel of Sembcorp Industries and oversees legal, compliance, and ethics matters as well as corporate secretarial functions within the Group. She brings to Sembcorp rich experience in her field, having worked in legal and compliance positions in a number of industries, including shipping, manufacturing as well as oil and gas. Prior to joining Sembcorp, Ms. Looi was Group General Counsel and Company Secretary at Neptune Orient Lines Group as well as at Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing.
Lee Hwa holds an LLB (Honours) degree from the National University of Singapore and was admitted to the bar as an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore
Charities are facing a challenging time. The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the lives of people all around the world and has changed the structure of societies and how people go about in their everyday lives. Charities have not been spared as well, for the pandemic affects their beneficiaries and the ensuing economic fallout affects their funding.
The beneficiary charity for 2020 is Child at Street 11. Child at Street 11 is a secular and independent charity that runs early years education programmes for children between 2 months old to 12 years old at a highly subsidised rate. Most of these children are from underprivileged families facing economic difficulties and have issues providing academic support for their child’s learning.
