The recent spate of high profile cyberattacks and data breaches, against the backdrop of more stringent data protection and cybersecurity regulations in the region, means that now more than ever, organisations must be prepared to respond effectively to a data breach and to effectively manage regulatory investigations. This is especially so for those in the insurance sector, as the data intensive nature of the sector makes it a prime target for those coveting its vast data sets. Co-hosted by AIG and CMS, and featuring Derek Crampton of Epiq, this session will focus on the legal and regulatory obligations that arise when there is a data breach, how organisations in the insurance sector should respond to enquiries from regulators, and the practical steps that in-house counsel can take to help their organisations recover from a data breach.
