Mark Cheng | Intellectual Property Strategist, IP ValueLab
Mark is an Intellectual Property Strategist with IP ValueLab, who delivers IP management solutions on a national level to public agencies and IP-ready businesses. With a strong legal background, he helps review and structure their IP management policies, rights and frameworks. Concurrently, he instructs public officers, entrepreneurs and enterprises at IP Academy as an Adjunct Faculty on IP issues across business, technology and even the arts. Prior to joining IP ValueLab, Mark was an Advocate and Solicitor at an international law firm, where he specialised in dispute resolution, criminal and civil litigation and mediation. Throughout his practice, Mark advised clients on a wide range of disputes ranging from workman compensation and personal injury claims, to cross-jurisdictional disputes for multinational corporations. Mark holds an Honours degree in Law from Singapore Management University and is a member of the Singapore Academy of Law.
Regina Lum | Intellectual Property Strategist, IPOS International
Regina is an IP Strategist at IPOS International where she provides consultancy services to clients on making strategic business and innovation decisions based on Patent Analytics. Having led multiple patent analytics projects from battery technologies to underground mapping technologies, Regina has also advised clients on a broad range of technology fields such as composite materials, healthcare & biomedical sciences, artificial intelligence, and building management. A forward-looking strategist, Regina is adept at identifying current and future technology directions, and counts multiple satisfied clients in her portfolio, where she provided actionable insights to shape business strategies and streamline R&D directions through delivery of timely advice, including ‘make’ or ‘buy’ decisions, technology gaps and opportunities, partnership candidates, etc.
Prior to her role as an IP Strategist, Regina held positions as a Patent Examiner and Trade Mark Examiner at IPOS over the past five years and has examined over 200 patent applications in the field of biotechnology and chemistry, and over 800 trademark applications. Due to be conferred the Specialist Certificate in Intangible Asset Management in August 2019, Regina also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Honours from National University of Singapore.
